The Indians acquired Aaron Cunningham from the Padres. Wahoo’s on First likes the deal. Cunningham had an outstanding minor league career at the plate, but his four short major league stints ranged from bad to just okay. He did play for old PCL teams, clubs that played in locals that increased offense. Taken out of those stadiums and into San Diego, it’s no wonder his statistics were less than stellar. The Indians took a small risk here, but at age 26 Cunningham is in his prime, and if he’s going to break out, he’s at the age when it will happen.
