The Red Sox in the bottom of the sixth and the Cubs in the top of the seventh booted the ball around. The Red Sox miscues led to a run, which the Cubs dropped throw put two runners in scoring position. Watching these teams play defense in these two innings gives one a good idea of why their seasons are going so badly. The teams are tied at three in the top of the seventh.
Update: Ryan Kalish hits an RBI single to give the Red Sox a 4-3 lead.
Update: Another poor throw moves Kalish to third on a sacrifice fly.
Update: Boston squeezes, and they lead 6-3.
