Super Saunders

It appears Buck Showalter knew what he was doing when he started Joe Saunders. He pitched good, lasting 5 2/3 innings, walking one, striking out four, and keeping the ball in the park. The staff induced three double plays, so while Texas put more batters on base, the Orioles where able to keep theirs on to come around and score. Yu Darvish pitched a fine game, walking none and striking out seven in 6 2/3 innings. The hits (and errors) against him came in bunches, and he allowed three runs for the loss.

Congratulations to the Orioles who beat the Rangers 5-1. Baltimore’s Cinderella season continues, as they head home to host the Yankees with the top of their rotation intact.
