Road teams have won four of the six LDS games played so far, and the Nationals and Yankees will try to make that six of eight today. Washington takes on St. Louis in game two of their LDS at 4:30 PM EDT. Jordan Zimmermann faces Jaime Garcia. Zimmermann posted the second lowest road ERA in the majors this season, as he was stingy with both walks and home runs away from Washington. He did get pummeled by the Cardinals this season, giving up 11 runs in ten innings of work. Five of the 15 hits recorded against Jordan by the Cardinals went for extra bases, and four of those came with men on base.

Garcia pitched better than his ERA of 3.92. His FIP came in at 2.97, his xFIP at 3.39. His high groundball percentage and high BABIP suggest that the Cardinals infield defense did not do the job behind him. He still managed to induce a good number of double plays.

The Yankees send Andy Pettitte against Chen Wie-Yin. Andy makes his 43rd post-season start, going for his 20th win against 10 losses. He’s 6-3 in 12 ALDS series with a 3.63 ERA. Andy only made 12 starts for New York this year, but his 8.2 K per 9 was the second highest single season mark of his career. Chen allowed six home runs in four starts against the Yankees. He also walked just six in 24 innings while striking out 18. Still, the Yankees managed to score 17 runs, 14 earned off the Orioles rookie.

Enjoy!
