Justin should sue Jerk Clark for libel. There’s zero evidence JV has used PEDs.
His basis for accusing Verlander is that JV was throwing 100mph, then signed his big contract and now cn barely get it up to 92 or 93. Granted, Verlander’s been a little off this year, but he was hitting 100 in the eighth inning a couple nights ago. I can only assume his allegations against Pujols and anyone else are also based on an alternate version of reality.
I wonder if the reason for the rash of bad contracts is some players just stop their PED use after getting the big deal. The risk of getting caught, and health consequences, outweighs any benefit when the money is already locked in.
If I were a team I would write any contract allowing me to void it if it can be proven a player was not truthful about past PED use. Maybe the CBA prohibits that, dunno.
In Pujols case, I seem to remember speculation he was older than his reported age, so there could be other factors with him.
