Alternate Game of the Day

Just in case you're not a Yankees or Cubs fan, the pitching matchup of the night takes place in Philadelphia. Barry Zito faces Brett Myers. The two appear to be very evenly matched.

The Phillies are having a bit of a disappointing season. However, much of it has been bad luck. They're runs scored/runs allowed number indicate they should bet 34-25 instead of 31-27. They're 12-13 in one and two run games, while the Braves are 16-6 in those close games. The Braves, based on their runs scored and allowed should be 36-23. So a combination of good luck on the Braves part and bad luck on the Phillies part has left the Phillies nine games back instead of two.
