Good Pitching

Pedro strikes out Pujols to end the bottom of the 6th. That's 11 in a row retired by Martinez. Pedro had thrown 64 pitches through four. He's thrown 19 over the last two innings. It looks like Pedro will give the bullpen a nice break as well tonight.

The Cardinals had him on the ropes early tonight, but failed to deliver the knockout punch. Martinez gave them two chances tonight; you can't hope for more than that vs. Pedro.

Update: Pedro gets the side again in the 7th. The Cardinals heart of the order has stopped beating, and the rest of the lineup can't restart the offense.

This WS is reminescent of some of the old Yankee's triumphs of the late-90s... just utterly brutal to watch. Excepting the middle portion of game one, at no point has it appeared that the Cardinals would, or could win.

Just entirely disspiriting baseball.

Let the insufferability begin. Boston, you have your precious WS.

Took a break for NYPD Blue, but it looks like I didn't miss much. If this is Pedro's career game, he is doing all he can to leave an indelible mark.

The Cardinals are not just being beaten, they are being spanked!!!! Did you see what Pedro did to Larry Walker after he was tagged at home? Spank him, baby!!! The deserve it!!!!!!! The Cardinals are done. Tomorrow, they will gladly head to the post season. Yes, gladly. You will see.

man, i can hardly believe how BAD the cards are playing. NO hits from rolen/edmonds. man, i sure wish they had played us that lousy in the NLCS. i keep laughing how they keep saying the cards aren't doing the "little" things - yeah, pitching, hitting, running....
