On a Larkin
Barry Larkin has retired. He'll be joining the Washington Nationals front office, which is looking like a home for old Reds:
In the Nationals' front office, Larkin is joining a former Reds' manager, Bob Boone, and teammate, pitcher Jose Rijo, as special assistants to Bowden.

Hopefully by retiring this year and Clemens playing an extra year, Larkin will be able to slip into the Hall, where he belongs, before the competition gets too tough.
Larkin, Edgar, and McGriff all eligible in the same year. Should be among the most interesting Hall of Fame votes in a while.
Living here in Cincinnati I wish Barry only the best in the future. However, I don't think he'll make it in the HoF for a while. The amount of playing time he missed due to various nagging injuries hurts his career totals.
Having grown up in Cincy I am proud to have had Larkin with the Reds. My deepest regards for a happy future and enshrinement in the HoF.
I don't think Edgar or Barry will get nearly enough votes. Have to check on Fred.
