re: phreakin phils

well it's almost may, phils are in last and jose offerman has a higher OPS than Jim Thome.

I'd be composing Haiku too.

right now runs allowed are 112 runs scored 88 neither number is very good.

Ryan Howard continues to tear up AAA while the big club has trouble scoring barely 4 runs a game.

The only good news is that the Lofton/Michaels platoon has exceeded expectations; Burrell is better than expected; and Abreu and Rollins are playing well. The rest of the lineup, Lieberthal and Bell, have flatlines, and Thome is basically at .600 OPS.

I would say the bench Thome and play Howard every third day chorus has to start soon. Thome may be at the end of his career, believe it or not.

Also, David Bell and Mike Lieberthall show signs of being done as well.

It might be time to shop a couple of veterans for some prospects at catcher, 3b and pitcher and play howard at 1st. Thome should be shopped to a pennant contender.

Also, Randy Wolf looks done as a starter and should be moved to the bullpen as a situational closer vs lefthanders or for long relief. He's giving up way too many homers and hits and walks. At one point he was going to be the next tom glavine, but since last year's all star break, he's completely lost it.

He needs to go to the bullpen to find it.
