Sammy Slammin'?
Sammy Sosa followed up a Tejada three run homer with a solo shot of his own. It's the third home run for Sammy in four games. The Orioles could use some more offense right now. They've been waiting a long time for Sosa to contribute. Maybe he's finally finding his swing.

His homer last night was a nice shot to straight center - definitely looks like bat speed isn't a problem right now.
As an aside, what is the over/under on plate appearances for Jeff Francoeur before he draws a walk? He's 3-4 tonight with 2 RBI, the second one being the one that put Atlanta ahead 4-3 (now the bottom of the 8th). He's now batting .433 in an even 30 plate appearances, of course, with an OBP of .433 as well.
Francouer did go 76 PAs in AA last year without a free pass. So put that over-under up there a ways.
Funny thing is that Francouer did draw some walks in 2002. Sure it was rookie ball, but he walked about once every ten ABs and managed a .395 OBP. He's gotten steadily more hacktastic since then, which isn't a good sign for his long-term prospects.
Omigod, it almost happened! Francouer worked Drese to a 3-1 count...and then...and then...he hit one out. What a disappointment!
32 and counting.
Francoeur just squandered another precious opportunity...by hitting another one out.
33 and counting.
And I'll finally spell the guy's name right.
