Bottom of the Ninth
Tavares faces Isringhausen. He grounds to Pujols, way right of the bag. Pujols has to slide to get the out.
Update: Vizcaino pinch hits. The defensive changes for Houston leave Biggio on the bench.
Update: Vizcaino grounds out to Pujols. Burke is up. Can he hit another big home run?
Update: Burke flies out to right. Cardinals win!
Wow. What a turnaround. Of course, St. Louis still has to beat Oswalt and Clemens, but they've got to get a big lift from this one.
CHISOX OVER ANGELS, BOSOX: EARLY WYNNS

Shoot out the Bright Lights 1982
In 1959, when the Chisox last were in the World Series, I was approaching my 1st birthday, my dad was teaching in Greece, I had a greek nanny, my mom and dad had a nice apartment in Salonika Greece, they had a bunch of friends from the US Military and the CIA, as well as Greek relatives, they ate out every night, Americans were well-loved in the world and especially in Europe, Buddy Holly was still alive, Elvis had yet to make a movie and the American Flag had 48 stars, and Chicago was the 2d largest city in the United States, and probably in the world.
And then it had been 40 years since the black sox. And now another 46. 86 years and only two pennants to show for it, and a couple of division flags.
You gotta think that destiny is with the Chisox.

PS Nolan Ryan who coughed up the 3 run lead in the NLCS to the Phillies in 1980 in the 8th was on hand to cheer Lidge's blown win and save on. Those Astro pitchers know how to blow a lead in clinching LCS games, even with HOF level pitchers like Ryan. Thank god it was the Astros the Phils faced in 1980! The Astros just don't have any luck winning in the LCS.
