Who's Overrated?

Was Watching points to a poorly constructed poll that shows players think Jeter is overrated. That study screams for a Borda count.

I saw an ESPN poll showing that fans believe Clemens is the best living pitcher alive today. It always seems to be that people think what they have at the present time is the best ever. In my years of watching baseball I would not put Roger, who I like, at the top of pitchers that are still alive. I would have Dave Stewart, Bob Gibson and Pedro above Clemens. I have never seen a better pitcher than Sandy Kolfax. He was by far the most dominating pitcher I have ever watched in my life. The way he manhandled the vaunted Yankees in the World Series and pitched without peer during his playing days. As a Red Sox fan Roger seemed great but did not do it in the big games. Even when he left the team it seemed he was great at giving lots of innings and having a great ERA but his inability to persevere against the best is what makes him just below the pitchers I had listed above. No doubt he has pitched well longer than many pitchers. He did well when he went to the NL. I just dont see him in the echelon as those others. Just one man's opinion.
