Would Steinbrenner Make Him Cut His Hair?

Sean Marshall and Chris Sampson are engaged in a pitcher's duel through five in Houston. Sampson just gave up his first game in the fifth. Marshall's given up one through four, but it was a home run by Brad Ausmus, his first of the year. Ausmus never hit 10 homers in a season.

sampson did not give up a hit. it was scored that, yes, but it was clearly an error, as he kicked the ball which therefore allowed mabry to reach.

the umps have also taken away a homerun from jason lane after baker went ape. adding insult to jasons perverbial injury (.193 BA)

yeah, that booted ball was most DEFINITELY an error.

what IS it with scorers that they refuse to give errors unless the ball rolls through someone's leg? no wonder BA and ERA are so nuch higher than they used to be
