Brewer Comeback

It took until the bottom of the ninth and two out, but an error and then a single by Clark pulled Milwaukee even with San Diego at three. It's Hoffman's first blown save of the season.

Update: Bill Hall wins it leading off the 10th with his 14th home run of the year. Hall continues to be all power as his two hits today were for extra bases. That gives him 50 hits on the season, 31 of the long variety.

Well, Hoffman gets credit for the blown save, but Greene's 2 out error is the real culprit.

One of the interesting things about stats for late inning
relievers is you can say it's his 1st blown save of the
season. Or, you can say another guy has x# continuous
saves & therefore he's a genius & give him the Cy
Young. But, in both these cases, the pitcher was tagged
with 1 or more Losses (in Hoffman's case, May 9th he
got the L). Also, Hoffman hasn't been asked once this
season to go more than 1 inning. If the team needs 4
outs, & a guy only gives you 3, that means you need to
invent another human being to go out there. Just pointing out some stuff about this save/genius stat. And I'm aware there are other ways of analyzing
saves, but they're still very inadequate.
