Iguchi Goochie Goo
With all the power on the Chicago White Sox, it's Tadahito Iguchi who brings the south siders back from the brink of defeat. After Roy Oswalt leaves with a 9-2 lead Iguchi hits a three-run homer off Springer in the eight to close the gap to 9-5, then slams Lidge in the 9th to tie the game. They're in the 11th now, and Astros fans are starting to think they'll never beat this team.

ah, but banjo hitting adam everett hits a triple, and willy taveras, who got a problem hitting with MOB, knocks him in.
fernando nieve, that famous closer, comes in, Ks konerko and then slams the door.
STROS WIN!!!!
of course, poor roy oswalt doesn't. he DOES show the few people in the USA who actually had this game broadcast instead of the *($^$@! yankees - WHY do they always show the &*$^@! yankees or red sox when my stros play????? hmmmmmmmm?
PREJUDICE
anyhow, he shows the other 10 people in the USA who GOT the espn broadcast why he's STILL one of the best pitchers in the NL
Lisa,
I got the Astros-WS game here in Toledo. Just as well that I didn't get the Yankees game.
And why is Lidge still the closer?
lidge is still the closer because MOST of the time he gets the job done.
he's still blown fewer saves than most closers - look at billy wagner - and i am counting last night as a BS because it was, really.
and besides - you would replace him with who?
- and i am very glad that yall got to see the game. almost all of espn game broadcasts involve the yanks, mets and redsox.
- and for us who don't WANT to see them, they don't NEVER give an alternate game like that...

Unfortunately his biggest blown saves were in last season's playoffs (Albert!). I have to admit, I do not follow the Astros and know nothing about Lidge's numbers, but when I saw that he gave up the grand slam the first thing that popped into my head was "geez, he's still blowing saves? How many DOES he blow?"
