Perfect Through Five

Jeff Francis retired the first 15 Cardinals batters he faced tonight, striking out five through five innings.

Update: Molina leads off the sixth with a fly ball to shallow center that Sullivan dives for but doesn't catch. It's the first hit of the game. The big Colorado outfield allows another short hit.

The Cardinals traditionally have trouble hitting soft-tossing lefties, as well as guys they haven't seen very often (as they are very very reliant on videotape for scouting)
