Turnabout's Fair Play

Chris Carpenter and two relievers hang a 1-0 shutout on the Colorado Rockies a day after Jeff Francis pitches a 7-0 game against the Cardinals. It's the second time this season consecutive shutouts are pitched at Coors. Carpenter wasn't exactly dominant as he allowed seven hits and three walks in 7 1/3 innings. But the only extra base hit by the Rockies was a Carroll double.

Jason Jennings actually out pitched Chris, tossing a complete game four hitter. (Back-to-back complete games by Rockies starters at Coors! What is the world coming to!) His only mistake was a home run to Albert Pujols, the first baseman's 33rd of the season. This is the only time the Rockies pitched complete games at Coors on back-to-back days.

Correction: Fixed a typo. The previous game was 7-0, not 1-0.

Wasn't the first game 7-0?
