No Wonder the Bullpen Blew Up

Oakland's staff pitched poorly last night as they fell to the Red Sox 13-5. Starter Jason Windsor could not make it through the third inning, allowing four runs. Saarloos, pitching as a long reliever put up a decent four innings, allowing two runs. But after that it was a cakewalk for the Red Sox.

It shouldn't be surprising the bullpen melted down. Since the All-Star break, the Oakland starters haven't pitched deep into games. The A's are wearing out their pen, and it showed last night.
