Valentin Breakup

Prior is out after 5 2/3 innings, five walks and 103 pitches. Ohman and Nova take the no hitter into the seventh. With one out, Valentin pops into shallow center, but Pierre breaks back and can't catch up to the ball in time as it falls between three fielders for the first base hit for the Mets.

John Maine still has his shutout going through seven innings, giving up three hits and three walks. If his spot comes up in this inning, I suspect we'll see a pinch hitter.

Update: The Cubs get out of the innings with just the one hit. Maine's spot in the lineup doesn't come up, but Sanchez is on to pitch the eighth for New York.

I'm willing to guess that Valintin gets the game winning hit in the 10th. I may be wrong though.
