Dusty Staying Put
Jim Hendry decided to keep Dusty Baker as manager the rest of the year.
"As far as the rest of the season goes, I let Dusty know today that he would be staying the rest of the year," said Hendry. "There won't be any discussions or questions to be asked about extensions now or anything like that. But I let him know that the next couple months, I felt it was best for the club that he complete the season and not worry about that."
Obviously, anti-Baker fans need a site like this.
The Cubs are playing well tonight as Walker and Barrett go deep back-to-back off Jeff Weaver to give the Cubs a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first.

So, basically he's safe until the trade deadline?
Really, after how the Cubs management lied about Wood & Prior's injury statuses this season, I wouldn't trade their assurances for a sack of beans.
