Point of No Return
ESPN will not reconsider hiring Harold Reynolds:
Former major league player Harold Reynolds said ESPN/ABC Sports President George Bodenheimer told him Wednesday that ESPN will not reconsider its decision earlier this week to fire him.
"I had a meeting," Reynolds said, "but rather than focus on the details, I'd prefer to focus on the future."
Harold is trying to not burn bridges. Seems like he hopes he might return someday.
"I don't understand all of the factors that went into ESPN's decision," Reynolds said, "but management has always had the power to terminate, and they decided to exercise it. I respectfully disagree with their decision, but I'm not going to sacrifice my relationship with ESPN just to make a media point."

This is odd.
Let's suppose they have the goods on HR (lots of sexual harrassment complaints). Usually the guy will do a lot of blustering in the media, it appears that HR is smart enough to keep his mouth shut.
They may have the goods, or there might be something else hanging over his head. Or he has another job, and does not want to jeopardize it by engaging a former employer in an ugly PR fight. Whatever it is, Reynolds emerges cleaner than the network in many fans' eyes. Strange days indeed...
Dammit. Now I'm gonna have to listen to John Kruk...
Harold Reynolds was annoying as hell. I couldn't stand some of his antics, like the stupid salute and the tappity-tap on the desk. Good riddance!
