The Error of Their Ways

Omar Infante's second inning error proved to be the difference in the Tigers/Twins game. Robertson and Bonser each allowed one earned run over seven innings in a good pitchers duel. But the unearned run that resulted tilted the game to the Twins as they win 2-1. Minnesota cuts the Tigers lead to three games.

No errors in the Indians/White Sox game, but the Chicago bullpen allows the Indians to score seven runs in the seventh inning to turn a laugher into a close game. The White Sox hang on to win 10-8, however, and move to 3 1/2 behind the Tigers and remain 1/2 game behind the Twins. Jermain Dye was a single short of the cycle and Konerko homered twice to bring his season total to 32.

Correction: I missed the home when I looked at the box. Dye was a single short of the cycle.

Dye was a single short of the cycle. He got the three hard ones out of the way but grounded out in his last bat.
