No Game Tonight
Rain postponed game 5 of the NLCS tonight. Glavine and Weaver get to face each other on normal rest tomorrow night. Games six and seven are still scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday.
This opens 2 questions:
1. Might the Cards choose to pitch Carpenter in game 5, considering the rest he'd have for it?
2. Do you think the Tigers will be rested up, or overrested...if there's any more rainouts that could delay the start of the World Series?
The difference in the rest between the Tigers and whoever comes out of the NL is going to be staggering... LaRussa or Randolph are going to have a lot fewer options when it comes to pitching assignments.
I agree Adam, but i'll let that team sit for as long as possible. They backed into the playoffs, were playing their best ball of year in the last 2 weeks. Give them a month off.
