Going with the Flow

Rays of Light discusses the Devil Rays acquistion of Brendan Harris, and throws in some physics just for fun.

In fact, this move is so difficult to understand that I fear criticizing it. If I'm so smart, why don't I just criticize Bernoulli's Equation while I'm at it? If you tell me that in an irrotational fluid, the sum of the static pressure, the weight of the fluid per unit mass times the height, and half the density times the velocity squared is constant throughout the field; I will believe you. And at this point if you tell me acquiring Harris is a brilliant move, I really want to believe you also.

I believe the thinking behind this trade is that the Rays plan on shopping B.J. Upton as an OF to acquire young pitching (possibly from the Marlins). That would mean that Akinori Iwamura would be the everyday 3B, not a utility INF. Tomas Perez held the UTIL spot last year for the Rays and I believe Harris is here to compete for that spot.

I find it kind of ironic that Baseball Musings chooses to use "Rays of Light"(FutureRays), yet the site doesn't get any positive upsurge in viewership because of the free pub.

Those silly guys, there, they'll do anything for a laugh.

That snippet had 0 to do with baseball...I guess the guy thinks he's Greg Easterbrook or something but he's not. Looking at their views I guess I'm not the only one who thinks physics or mascot videos dancing to rap is good baseball talk, but whatever.
