My personal favorite at-the-ballpark moment was the All-Star HR Derby at Camden: Griffey off the warehouse, Gonzalez into the third deck and Fielder out of the stadium. Unbelievable. Tom Selleck also went deep, while MJ failed to reach the outfield.
Robin Ventura's game-winning "grand slingle" in the bottom of the 15th against the Braves in Game 5 of the '99 NLCS.
6 hours of tension released with one swing. Still alive at 3-2 going to Atlanta after losing 3 straight to start the series. Strangers hugging each other and high-fiving in the rain. You could see and feel the stands shaking.
I was finishing up a solo camping trip in the Sierras and happened to be in Visalia just as an Oaks game was starting, so I bought a ticket and sat in the front row directly behind home plate, only to witness future Rockies star Jeff Francis toss a no-hitter. Two of his teammates were sitting behind me tracking his pitches during the game and were getting very antsy towards the end of the game, all without mentioning the no-no in progress. "He's hitting his spots today" was about as specific as they got.
