Double Debuts

Justin Germano and Anthony Lerew made their 2007 debuts for the Padres and Braves respectively. Each did a fine job. Germano was in line for the win after allowing one run through six innings. He only walked one batter. Lerew allowed two runs on two solo home runs, the only hits he allowed. He struck out seven in his six innings of work. But Heath Bell turned into Hell's Bell tonight as he gave up two runs in the eighth and Atlanta took the game 3-2. Bell had only allowed seven hits in 20 2/3 innings before tonight.
