White Sox Win

The Chicago White Sox defeat the Yankees 5-3. Danks, Aardsma and Thornton kept the Yankees from putting the ball in play often, striking out ten in the game. When you look at the batting statistics of the two lineups, it's tough to believe the Yankees wouldn't win the game easily. But the White Sox pitchers spread out the hits. If Boston wins and the Yankees lose the night cap, New York will find itself 9 1/2 games behind the Red Sox, while Chicago would move to within 2 1/2 of Detroit.
