Slugfest Without Much Slugging

The Seattle Mariners opened up their lead in the wild card race to one game over both New York and Detroit. The Tigers lost earlier this afternoon, getting shutdown by Scott Kazmir and the Devil Rays 8-1. The Mariners took tonight's game against the Orioles 13-8. There were a combined 23 hits in the game, but only seven went for extra bases.

The other turnaround between Detroit and Seattle was Ichrio picking up three hits to raise his batting average to .350, and Ordonez going 0-3 to lower his batting average to .348, putting Suzuki in the AL lead.
