Pronunciation Guide
Bleed Cubbie Blue provides the correct pronunciation for the Cubs new player, koh-skay foo-koo-DOUGH-may.
Unfortunately, his name will probably get pulled into the gutter no matter what.
If he's medicore-to-bad, they'll scream a different pronunciation.
If he's great, they'll scream a different pronunciation ... to rattle the other team.
What's not to like about K-Fuk?
Nate Silver over at BP loves K-FUK:
"...is a pretty good-looking lineup. PECOTA very much likes Geovany Soto and Felix Pie, by the way, and is reasonably warm on Ronny Cedeno. If the Cubs let these kids play-perhaps also integrating Ryan Theriot and Matt Murton in platoons of various kinds-this could quite easily be the best lineup in the National League."
"foo-koo-DOUGH-may"? Nope. The accent in Japanese is always very light and on the first syllable. My wife is Japanese and sometimes yells at the TV when the announcers say matSUi or matsuZAka.
