A-Rod a Yankee
The Yankees and Alex Rodriguez completed their contract negotiations:
Alex Rodriguez set another record for baseball's highest contract, finalizing his $275 million, 10-year agreement with the New York Yankees on Thursday.
...
His new deal allows A-Rod to earn $30 million more for achieving historic milestones. He is 18th on the career list with 518 homers, 244 shy of Barry Bonds' record.
Given some of the contracts handed out this winter, I think the Yankees got a pretty good deal.
Correction: I had an update to the previous post here by mistake.
Wow, Troy Glaus is on there twice. He must have taken a LOT of steroids. ;)
if Garces is on there, can we also expect to see Ponson and Sabathia?
Pujols :-( If I could name the people I most wanted to NOT see on that list, he would be second only to Pedro. Say it ain't so...
MLB has disputed the accuracy of the list -- I'm going to assume that Pujols won't be on the list. He's the only true superstar on there as the rest of the players are either scrubs or players on the downside of their careers. Although you do have to respect a list that puts Rich Garces, Neifi and Pujols together.
Did the NYY sign anyone who wasn't on the list??????
