Holding the Bribes

River Ave. Blues notes the Yankees have yet to pay the bribe money they promised to the Bronx on the start of the construction of their new stadium.

Is there no oversight for this project? The Yankees shouldn't need to use public money anyways. They have enough to build two stadiums out of their own pocket if they wished.

Both you and River Ave Blues distort what seems to be going on. This is a case of politicians and non-profits failing to do what is needed to collect and distribute the money. The Yanks claim the money is in escrow and no one in the article disputes that claim.

Not a surprise. The Yankees have YET to come through on the community development commitments they made in exchange for the $100 million (originally $25 million) refurbishment of 1974 - 1975.
