Age Over Beauty
The White Sox decide to go with Joe Crede and Juan Uribe instead of Josh Fields and Alexei Ramirez. They're going for the known rather than the unknown. We'll see if it turns out to be the best choice.

Now, I like a steady veteran as much as the next person -- provided the cagey vet can hit or pitch or play great "D" --but this just looks to further the whole idea that when the Chisox won the World Series, Ken Williams caught lightning in a bottle. Add Crede and Uribe to what is already an aged lineup, and you have the makings of an AARP all-star team. Pity poor Brian Anderson, Jerry Owens and Co...they're going to shine elsewhere someday, and their careers won't be as long as they should have been.

I think Fields is much better Crede and GM K. Williams made the decision to keep him and showcase him for a trade. Too bad this really hurts the team. Also, if Swisher is the centerfielder, they are screwed. He's a corner man.
Is this the first time that "Juan Uribe" and "best choice" have been used in the same paragraph without a very clear "not the" coming in between?
It's the best choice, certainly--for Cubs fans and Ozzie haters.
Hard to trade guys when they're sitting on the bench
