Can't Find a Centerfielder
Andruw Jones and Juan Pierre combined to go 0 for 8 in the Dodgers 9-3 loss to the Diamondbacks Monday night. They are bringing up the rear of a poorly performing offensive team, combining to go 4 for 41 with two walks, nine strikeouts, one RBI and no runs scored.

The Dodgers did an awesome job bidding against themselves for Andruw Jones. Didn't the fact that teh Braves made no effort to sign him give them any idea about what they were doing?
The Andruw Jones deal is actually a good deal considering they only have to pay him for 2 years. Contrast that to the Juan Pierre deal which will be over when Pierre is in AAA.
Jones may be on the downslide as he turns 31 this month, but he's still a better bet than Pierre. I doubt LA would keep Pierre on the big club if it wasn't for the ridiculous contract.
The Andruw Jones deal is actually a good deal considering they only have to pay him for 2 years. Good compared to the Pierre deal? OK - so paying $16M for a guy who can't play because you're already paying $10M or whateva for a guy who can't play is a good deal? I thinks that's called good money after bad.
