No Love for Pudge
Peter Abraham points out that the Ivan Rodriguez trade hurt both teams. Especially damning is this:
Andy Pettitte threw to him once then asked not to again.
Pudge's defensive credentials are based on his ability to stop the running game. I've heard others question his game calling skills before, but never so directly.

That entry has lots of funny comments from irate Yankee fans wanting to dump the team's second-best hitter.
Fine with me. I hope the Yanks get rid of all their hitters.
Anyway, Hank will buy Teixeira to replace Giambi. No way they'll go with Posada at first and Rodriguez catching next year. That's a formula for zero offense.
The Tigers were dying for some team to take Pudge off their hands. He fell out of favor in Detroit like a falling piano from a 13 story window. He didn't care for pitchers meetings with the pitching coach or anything of the like. He's all about topping off his stats now. I'm glad the Yanks got him now and Andy P. refuses to pitch to him. That's what they do in the Bronx. Big Unit didn't want to pitch to Posada. The Yanks can afford personal caddies though. I just revel in Yankee folly. Don't mind me. But the truth is the Tigers wanted I-Rod gone post haste............And yes, Pudge did call games to benefit himself against the running game. Gary Carter did the same thing when he played.
