If the Red Sox so 7-10 winning or losing no more than two games in a row, people would see them just as a mediocre team. Losing ten in a row, then winning seven in a row makes us wonder if they are really good or really bad. Are they a bad team going through a lucky streak, or were they a good team going through an unlucky streak?

I vote for simply mediocre. The team scores run at a people average rate and allows run at about an average rate. That’s a good combination for a losing record.
