Best Batter Today

Cody Bellinger stays atop the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings, going one for four with a walk. His batting average drops to .374, and it looks like he won’t be hitting .400 this season. Christian Yelich went two for two with a walk, but was pulled early in the 16-0 Miami blowout of the Brewers. Yelich remains in second place, seven points behind Bellinger. Josh Bell got a night off and sits in third place.

Anthony Rendon was the big mover of the evening. He went two for four with a double, home run, and walk to help the Nationals erase an early 5-0 deficit and beat the White Sox 9-5. He moves up to fourth place, knocking Anthony Rizzo out of the top five. Mike Trout walked and was hit by a pitch to hold fifth place.
