Games of the Day

The Dodgers go for a series sweep of the Nationals as they send Walker Buehler against Stephen Strasburg. Buehler goes for his tenth win of the season versus one loss, and is now 18-6 in his short career. He needs six strikeouts for 300 for his career, just 263 2/3 innings old. Strasburg leads the NL in wins with thirteen, and a win today would put him alone atop the majors.

Wade Miley squares off against Dakota Hudson as the Astros play the Cardinals, but all eyes will be on Paul Goldschmidt. He homered in six straight games, and is two games short of tying the record. Goldschmidt is 3 for 4 with a double off Miley in his career.

Finally, the Red Sox go for a four-game sweep of the Yankees as Domingo German faces Chris Sale. The two own very similar ERAs, 4.03 for German, 4.00 for Sale, but very different records. German comes into the game 12-2, Sale 5-9. German’s ERA is the result of two very poor starts, including his last time out. Sale pitched poorly more consistently.

Enjoy!
