Figuring probabilities for Vladimir Guerrero Jr.of the Blue Jays to win the AL Triple Crown became more complicated last night. Salvador Perez of the Royals tied Shohei Ohtani of the Angels with 44 home runs for second place in that race. Yuli Gurriel of the Astros tied his injured teammate Michael Brantley for second place in the batting race. Guerrero is now up two points in the batting race, but Perez’s entry into the home run and RBI races make predictions a bit complicated. It’s safe to say the Guerrero faces a bigger challenge than he did a couple of days ago. Perez could easily win two legs of the triple crown at this point.
