Games of the Day

Dodgers visit the Reds, both trying to play spoilers. The Reds try to gain in the race for the second wild card slot in the NL, while the Dodgers try to catch the Giants for best record in the majors. Walker Buehler takes on Luis Castillo. Buehler is tied with his teammate Max Scherzer at 77.9 Tom Tango Cy Young points, the best in the majors. It should be a close vote for these two. Castillo pitched better at home this season, with only five of his 18 home runs allowed coming in Cincinnati.

It’s tires and soles in Queens as Zack Wheeler of the Phillies takes on his former team the Mets and Taijuan Walker. Wheeler owns a 2.86 ERA, which would be the best season mark of his career. He allowed just 157 hits in 195 1/3 innings, thanks in part to 225 K. Walker is in a slump, 0-6 with a 7.38 ERA in ten starts since the All-Star break. He allowed 17 home runs in 50 innings.

First place teams clash is San Francisco as the Braves send Ian Anderson against the Giants and Logan Webb. Anderson pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings against the Giants earlier this season, and he accomplished that without striking out a batter. Webb is undefeated at home, 5-0 with a 1.66 ERA, opponents posting a .206/.272/.291 slash line.

Enjoy!
