I’ve had a couple of requests for a ranking of players by percentage of games with a hit. This is minimum 80 games in 2021, with a game counting if the player started and had at least one PA that would qualify the game to count for a hit streak (a game would not count if all the appearances ended in walks or hit by pitches).

Mr. Pinto:
That same stat — the percentage of games played in which the player also gets a hit — was one of the thoughts hat has crossed my mind in recent months as a possibly useful addition to the numbers already being tracked. So, after the fact, I applaud the appearance of that stat. The gap between those at the top and those at the bottom is considerable. I’ve also been surprised at the gaps I’ve encountered for a given hitter on days of the week. Gaps of 40 points to 60 points have sometimes turned up. A hitter may love Saturdays and hate Tuesdays. What accounts for it? Ya got me. I just don’t know. But the numbers are the numbers.
