Three Bases for a Run

Nicole Cahill explores an idea put forward by Todd Hollandsworth of eliminating 90 feet and scoring a run by reaching third base. The rule may very well inject more action into the game:

One thing I do like about this change is that it shakes up the dynamic of what we consider a “good” baseball player to be. It allows for a variety of skills to contribute to the game we all love. What’s not to like about that?

It would certainly revive the value of going for a triple. Someone small and fast might actually lead the league in home runs!

    I hope this means that the third-base coaches will be moved to between second and third.
