Nicole Cahill explores an idea put forward by Todd Hollandsworth of eliminating 90 feet and scoring a run by reaching third base. The rule may very well inject more action into the game:

It would certainly revive the value of going for a triple. Someone small and fast might actually lead the league in home runs!
I hope this means that the third-base coaches will be moved to between second and third.
