The Mariners visit the Rays with Logan Gilbert taking on Matt Wisler. Gilbert turns 25 next week, and is off to a great start in 2022. In 16 2/3 innings he allowed one walk and one home run while striking out 15. Wisler makes his second start as an opener, only giving up a walk in his first.

The Mets and Cardinals continue their series with another good pitching match-up, Chris Bassitt facing Jordan Hicks. Bassitt averages six innings per start. In his 18 innings, he walked four and struck out 20. Hicks allows very few hits, but makes up for it with walks. Still, that works, as he owns a 3.50 career ERA in 123 1/3 innings.

Finally the battle of the Bay has the Athletics visiting the Giants. Daulton Jefferies takes the visiting hill against Carlos Rodon. Jefferies is pitching well in 2022, but his low ERA comes from his opponents going 0 for 10 with runners in scoring position. Rodon has not allowed a home run in three starts, striking out 29 batters in seventeen innings.
