The Giants and Reds kick off the day at 11:30 AM EDT. Given the match-up between Alex Cobb with a 6.25 ERA and Tyler Mahle with a 6.52 ERA. I assume they want to give European viewers a chance to see a slugfest.

The Yankees at the Rays feature another fine pitching duel, as Luis Severino takes on Shane McClanahan. Severino has yet to record a loss, 3-0 in eight starts. He’s holding batters to a .143 BA with runners in scoring position. McClanahan is following up his fine rookie season by lowering his ERA about 1.4 runs. While he still gives up home runs at a high rate, there are so few men on base against him they do little damage.

The Brewers try to stop the the Cardinals in St. Louis as Corbin Burnes battles Miles Mikolas. Burnes averages about 6 1/2 innings per start, and walked just ten batters in 57 2/3 innings. Mikolas has a similar profile, and allowed just three home runs in his 55 innings.

Finally, the Pirates and Padres square off with Roansy Contreras facing MacKenzie Gore in a battle of rookies. Contreras now has 15 2/3 MLB innings under his belt, allowing just ten hits while striking out 19. Gore, in his 35 innings, allowed just one home run while striking out 38.
