Money Flows Coast to Coast

Tyler Anderson leaves the Dodgers for a gig in Anaheim as the Angels agree to a three-year deal with the pitcher. Meanwhile, the Yankees bring back first baseman Anthony Rizzo on a potential three-year deal. Both contacts are reported to be around $40 million guaranteed.

Rizzo plays 2023 as a 33-year-old and is a solid two WAR player his contract contains an option year that could bring his value up to $51 million. Anderson, the same age, comes off a 4.0 fWAR season with the Dodgers. He was a solid pitcher for the Rockies for a number of seasons before becoming peripatetic the last three seasons. Both sign fair contracts, and will have a chance to earn more in three years if they keep producing.
