Best Batter Today

Luis Arraez of the Marlins sits atop the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings after the team enjoyed an off day on Monday. Second place Yordan Alvarez of the Astros did play, and reached base twice with a walk and a hit by pitch in a 7-3 win over the Giants.

Bo Bichette of the Blue Jays posted the highest game score of the day, an 85 as he goes five for five with a home run, but the Red Sox prevail 6-5. That moves Bichette into third place. He sports a .344/.379/.552 slash line after the great offensive night.

Fourth place belongs to Mike Trout of the Angels, he and LAnaheim taking the night off. Jeff McNeill of the Mets sits if fifth place. He goes three for eight with a home run and a hit by pitch in the doubleheader split between the Mets and Braves. He is hitting .304 with a .418 OBP.

Less than four points separate one from five.
