He walked a batter and gave up five hits, meaning his opponents went five for nine when they put the ball in play. With all the Ks, it was tough for them to advance as Gil allowed one run to lower his ERA to 2.39.

The Yankees gave him plenty of support, including four home runs to win the game 6-1.
