The Mets and Diamondbacks win on Sunday afternoon, forcing at least one game, and probably two at Atlanta on Monday. If the Braves win today, and the Mets win the first game tomorrow, then the second game is irrelevant. Of course, that means that the Braves would want to tank game one.
The Braves, however, are losing 4-2 in the bottom of the ninth inning. If the Braves lose, then we are playing two.
Update: Massive Tie! The Royals beat the Braves 4-2. A split tomorrow puts the Mets in Milwaukee and the Braves in San Diego. A sweep puts the sweeper in San Diego and the Diamondback in Milwaukee.
Excellent. Make them play two, even if it’s just for the integrity of the schedule, as Bud Selig used to say.
