Power Johnson

Dan Johnson lines a double off the wall in right, his second straight hit off a left-handed pitcher. He leaves for a pinch runner as Carlos Pena faces Darren Oliver with one out and Tampa Bay trailing 2-1 in the eighth.

Update: Pena falls behind 1-2. He delivers a line drive to right, however, and Desmond Jennings scores easily from second. The Rays are back even, 2-2.

Update: Darren O’Day comes in to pitch to B.J. Upton.

Update: Upton falls behind 0-2. He works the count even but strikes out swinging. He’s 1 for 12 in the series.

Update: Neftali Feliz comes on to try to keep this game tied.

Update: Jason Bartlett draws a walk to push Carlos Pena to second.

Update: John Jaso falls behind 0-2. He fouls off a pitch, then drives a slider to centerfield for an RBI and a 3-2 Rays lead. Jaso takes second on the throw home. The Rays have walked a lot in this game, and the walk to Bartlett really hurts. Feliz gets out of the inning on a fly ball, but for the first time in the series the Rays are defending a lead as the game goes to the bottom of the eighth.
