The Price is Right

David Price pitches the third fine game for the Tampa Bay Rays in the final of their series against Boston, holding the Red Sox to three hits and three walks in eight innings of work as the Rays takes two out of three by a score of 4-0. Tampa starters pitched all of one inning in the three games, and it’s that kind of starting results that I thought would help the team stay in contention this year. The offense just wasn’t up to it.

B.J. Upton hit a double and homer Thursday afternoon, but that just raised his slash line to .231/.309/.402. He draws walks and hits for power, but he doesn’t hit often enough to make him an effective offensive player.
