Well the players are all adults, though they may not all be of legal drinking age.
If two thirds of teams ban alcohol in the clubhouse, this sounds like a call that should be made on a case by case basis. The more liberal policy is a minority, but we live in a less liberal era.
Alcohol is usually allowed for the fans, but cut off at a certain point. Common sense would seem to be to allow alcohol for the players, but again only at certain times, such as after the game.

I agree. That’s the trust they get (and the Red Sox don’t) for winning 91 games instead of 90. 🙂
